The National Jewish Assembly applauds the British and Israeli governments for their commitment to the “2030 Roadmap for Bilateral Relations”. This historic partnership between the two nations is a testament to our shared values of freedom, innovation, and democracy.
The Roadmap outlines a strategic partnership that will continue to serve mutual interests, with regular high-level engagement ensuring a modern, innovative, and forward-looking relationship. The partnership is underpinned by extensive security and defence cooperation, with both countries cooperating to counter global challenges and threats, including Iran’s destabilising activities in the Middle East.
The partnership will showcase the best of both nations, with ambitious science and technology partnerships and an industrial R&D programme that will push new frontiers of innovation. The NJA is excited about the potential to create jobs and fuel economic growth through deepening the bilateral trading relationship and building a more environmentally sustainable and inclusive future together.
Furthermore, the partnership will explore health cooperation, focussing on addressing challenges facing the UK and Israeli healthcare systems, and building on the pan-Northern UK-Israel health-tech gateway launched earlier this year.
The Roadmap also promises to combat the global scourge of antisemitism. The NJA commends Israel and the British governments for their leadership and commitment to tackling this reprehensible phenomenon, as well as attempts to de-legitimise or demonise Israel wherever and whenever it occurs.
The NJA is proud of the deep and historic partnership between Israel and the UK and look forward to seeing this strategic partnership evolve and grow over the coming years.
