The National Jewish Assembly (NJA) is pleased to announce the successful hosting of a virtual event on Yom Yerushalayim, featuring Avi Mayer, the Editor-in-Chief of the Jerusalem Post. Mayer was interviewed by British journalist, broadcaster, and entrepreneur, Jonny Gould. Gould is the host and producer of the hugely successful podcast, ‘Jonny Gould’s Jewish State.’
Mayer shared his valuable insights and articulated his vision for the Jerusalem Post as a free and open space for diverse opinions, firmly rooted in a commitment to Zionism.
The NJA expresses its gratitude to Mayer for his participation in the event and for generously sharing his expertise and perspectives. Gould asked astute questions that enabled Mayer to elaborate on his observations on effective digital advocacy and the lamentable rise of antisemitism in the USA were well received by the audience.
As a highly respected journalist and expert in public affairs, Mayer’s contributions to Zionist thought, leadership and his commitment to promoting open dialogue and understanding are commendable. His vision for the Jerusalem Post aligns perfectly with the values and principles upheld by the NJA, and the organisation applauds his dedication to providing a platform for diverse voices within a Zionist framework.
The NJA extends its sincere appreciation to Gould for conducting the interview, and to the 100 attendees for joining the call. It is through the engagement and collaboration of individuals like them that the NJA continues to strengthen the Jewish community and advance its three pillars of: supporting Israel, promoting Jewish life, and fighting antisemitism.
As Mayer embarks on his new role as Editor-in-Chief of the Jerusalem Post, the NJA wishes him great success. The NJA is confident that under his leadership, the Jerusalem Post will continue to be a beacon of journalistic excellence and a trusted source of news for readers worldwide.
