The National Jewish Assembly is proud to extend our warmest congratulations to Dame Melinda Simmons DCMG, Baroness Beeban Kidron OBE, and Doreen Gainsford, the recipients of the Women of Distinction Awards at Jewish Care’s Women of Distinction lunch this year. These three inspiring women were recognized for their dedication and outstanding achievements in their respective fields.
Dame Melinda Simmons DCMG, Ambassador of the United Kingdom in Ukraine, received the award in recognition of her exceptional work serving as the Ambassador of the United Kingdom in Ukraine since 2019.
Baroness Beeban Kidron OBE, a world-leading advocate for digital regulation and accountability, was recognized for her tireless advocacy for children’s rights in the digital world.
Doreen Gainsford, who founded The 35s Women’s Campaign for Soviet Jewry, was honored for her dedication in raising awareness of the plight of Soviet Jews and campaigning for their freedom.
As a community, it is essential to celebrate the achievements of positive change-makers. The National Jewish Assembly believes that these inspiring women serve as role models for the British Jewish community and remind all that ones’ dedication, hard work, and perseverance can make a difference in the world.
