NJA Welcomes Death of (Former) Hamas Leader Yahya Sinwar

The National Jewish Assembly (NJA) welcomes the news of the death of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, a mastermind behind the brutal October 7 massacre and countless other acts of terror against Israel. Sinwar is also responsible for perpetuating years of oppression against Gazans, denying them any prospects of peace with Israel.

His elimination is a significant victory in the ongoing battle against Islamist terrorism, and we commend the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) for their persistent efforts to dismantle Hamas’s leadership and neutralise their capacity to wage terror against Israel.

Sinwar’s death comes as a result of the IDF’s unwavering commitment to protect Israel and its people. His orchestrating role in the horrific attack that claimed over 1,200 lives and led to the abduction of more than 250 individuals is a painful reminder of Hamas’s relentless pursuit of Israel’s destruction and the threat it poses to Israel. With Sinwar’s removal, the NJA hopes this sends a clear message to Hamas and its sympathisers: Israel will not rest until justice is served and terror is eradicated.

Gary Mond, Chairman of the NJA, stated, “The IDF’s success in neutralising Yahya Sinwar is a moment of triumph in the fight against those who seek to destroy Israel. Sinwar’s death is a victory not just for Israel, but for all who stand against Islamist extremism. We hope that the IDF will soon bring home the hostages and continue their mission to defeat these terrorists who only dream of Israel’s annihilation.”

The NJA further expresses its hopes for the safe rescue of the hostages still held by Hamas, while urging the IDF to continue its relentless operations to bring peace and security to the region. This victory, while significant, is just one step in the broader campaign to ensure that Hamas and its ideology of hate are defeated once and for all.

Sinwar’s death marks a major milestone and turning point in the Israel-Hamas front, but the fight must continue, and we stand firmly behind Israel as it wages its just and necessary war against numerous Islamist terrorist organisations.
