The National Jewish Assembly (NJA) expresses its profound sorrow and outrage at the news that the bodies of six hostages, including Hersh Goldberg-Polin, Eden Yerushalmi, Carmel Gat, Almog Sarusi, Alexander Lobanov, and Ori Danino, have been retrieved from a tunnel in Rafah, Gaza. These individuals were brutally murdered by Hamas terrorists.
NJA Chairman Gary Mond stated, “This heart-wrenching tragedy underscores the true nature of Hamas – an Islamist terror organisation that embodies pure evil. The fact that these innocent Israeli lives were extinguished in such a barbaric manner is a stark reminder of the enemy we face, an enemy that revels in the suffering of others and will stop at nothing to achieve its genocidal aims.”
Mond also expressed deep concern over the rising tide of pro-Palestine sympathisers in the West who, through their protests and rhetoric, lend support to such monstrous acts of violence. “It is unconscionable that, in the face of such clear evidence of Hamas’s atrocities, there are still those in the West who continue to justify or downplay the actions of these terrorists. This moral blindness is not only dangerous but also contributes to the perpetuation of violence.”
The NJA calls on the UK government to show resolve and moral clarity in this dark hour. It is imperative that our leaders unequivocally side with Israel in its fight against Hamas and its terrorist allies. The UK must stand firm against these Islamist monsters and their enablers, who seek to undermine peace and stability in the region.
Mond added, “While the NJA takes no stance on internal political decisions in Israel, we wish Benjamin Netanyahu and his government wisdom, G-d willing, in terms of making optimal choices which will result in freeing the hostages, winning the war and securing Israel’s future.”
The NJA will continue to advocate for justice and support Israel as it confronts the horrors perpetrated by Hamas. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims during this unimaginably difficult time.
