NJA Disappointed by Andrew Bridgen MP’s Comment Comparing COVID-19 Vaccination to the Holocaust

The NJA is shocked and disappointed by a Tweet published on January 11 by Andrew Bridgen MP stating that the COVID-19 vaccination is “the biggest crime against humanity since the Holocaust”.

Analogies and comparisons between the Holocaust and other events are rarely accurate and seldom helpful. Attempting to link the COVID-19 vaccination to the Holocaust is especially concerning, as it fuels antisemitic conspiracy theories that have arisen since the outbreak of the pandemic.

The NJA thanks Prime Minister Rishi Sunak for calling-out the comments as “utterly unacceptable” and reiterating his determination “that the scourge of antisemitism is eradicated”.

The NJA hopes that, going forward, Andrew Bridgen MP and other elected officials will desist from making erroneous comparisons to the Holocaust.
