Israeli Security Forces eliminate wanted terrorist

The National Jewish Assembly fully supports the Israeli security forces operating in the Palestinian city of Nablus in Samaria this morning (West Bank) where 3 Arab gunmen were killed in an armed clash.

One was the commander of the al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades in Nablus, Ibrahim Nabulsi. The other 2 were members of the terrorist group, named as Islam Soboukh and Hussein Taha.

Israeli special forces, from the police’s elite Yamam counter-terror unit and the IDF’s undercover Duvdevan Unit, entered Nablus early Tuesday morning and surrounded Nabulsi’s home. He had been wanted by the IDF for years and a large number of explosives and additional weapons were found in the house.

Nabulsi was responsible for a number of shooting attacks against military positions in the area and against Joseph’s Tomb which is located on the outskirts of Nablus.

He refused to surrender and during the operation, a firefight broke out between dozens of armed Palestinians and IDF soldiers.

Thirty Palestinians were reported to have been wounded in the ensuing gun battle. There were no casualties to Israeli forces, but a counterterrorism unit dog named Zili aged nine-years-old was shot and killed when entering the building.

In 2019, Zili entered a multi-story building in Ramallah, located and overpowered a terrorist who was wanted for murder. Zili took part in hundreds of Counterterrorism unit operations in the past few years, and this morning, probably saved the lives of soldiers.

The NJA believe the elimination of Ibrahim Nabulsi is a positive step in the uncompromising fight against terrorism.
