Israeli Police forced to make arrests

The National Jewish Assembly strongly condemns the rioting from several dozen Palestinian Arabs, throwing rocks and bottles at the entrance to the Damascus Gate in Jerusalem. For three nights in a row and since the start of the month of Ramadan, this growing violence threatens to harm the larger public of Arab worshippers, merchants and visitors, who wish to celebrate the festival in peace and security.

The disturbances once again prove, it is a very small minority of Palestinian youth who wish to disrupt and cause trouble, which in turn force police officers to call for reinforcements and make arrests.

Local Arab leaders must step up and do what they can, to prevent these small groups of Palestinians from initiating violence, which if not dealt with quickly, can explode into a wider riot with injuries or worse.
