NJA Condemns Vicious Antisemitic Attack in the Netherlands, Calls for Dutch Authorities to Take Uncompromising Action Against Islamist Terrorism

The National Jewish Assembly (NJA) condemns in the strongest terms the appalling attack against Jews in the Netherlands, a brazen act of violence that lays bare the escalating menace of Islamist extremism on European soil. This incident is a shocking example of the “globalising intifada” strategy that is turning European cities into battlegrounds for Islamist radicals who seek to terrorise Jewish communities without fear of repercussion.

This brutal assault is not an isolated act; it is part of a disturbing trend where Islamist radicals feel emboldened to spread terror across Europe, fuelled by an ideology of hatred and antisemitism. With alarming frequency, Jewish communities across the continent are being targeted in attacks that mirror the brutal tactics of Middle Eastern terror groups. The reality is clear: Islamist extremists are bringing their war to the streets of Europe, and the silence and inaction from European leaders are creating an environment in which Jewish communities are increasingly vulnerable to attack.

Gary Mond, Chairman of the National Jewish Assembly, declared, “This horrifying attack is a blatant reminder of the growing danger posed by Islamist terrorism in Europe. It is shameful that in 2024, Jews in Europe are once again living in fear, facing violent attacks from extremists who are enabled by weak, ineffective responses. We call on Dutch authorities to act with the full force of the law to bring these attackers to justice and send an unequivocal message that such acts of terror will be met with zero tolerance.”

The NJA will continue to monitor this situation closely, remaining relentless in its commitment to confront antisemitism and Islamist terror, and to hold governments accountable for failing to protect Jewish communities.
