On Tuesday afternoon, 24 February, senior peers, MPs and policy advisers packed a House of Lords committee room for a briefing hosted by the We Believe Alliance, formerly the National Jewish Assembly and We Believe in Israel. The meeting urged the government to proscribe Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the Muslim Brotherhood, warning that existing measures fall short of protecting UK security.
In the coming weeks and months, the We Believe Alliance will mobilise a multi-pronged campaign across Parliament, policy, media and civil society to press for decisive action to proscribe these organisations, in order to protect UK society, strengthen national security and uphold democratic values.
