National Jewish Assembly Condemns Violent Antisemitic Attack at Hampstead Station, Demands Urgent Action

The National Jewish Assembly (NJA) is appalled and outraged by the racially motivated assault on three Jewish boys at Hampstead Underground station on Monday night, which left one hospitalised. This heinous attack, reportedly carried out by a group of six to seven men, is a chilling reminder of what happens when the rule of law is eroded and hatred is indulged under the guise of political protest.

That such an attack could occur in Hampstead – a centre of British Jewish life for over a century – is both horrifying and symbolic. We are witnessing, in real time, the consequences of months of appeasement towards radical, pro-Palestinian mobs who have turned British streets into arenas of intimidation. When law enforcement tolerates hate, this is the inevitable result: Jewish children lying in hospital beds.

The NJA demands a full and immediate investigation into this attack. Those responsible must be arrested, charged, and prosecuted with the full force of the law. A society that fails to protect its Jewish citizens from racially motivated violence is one that is abandoning its most basic obligations.

NJA Vice Chairman Laurence Julius said: “This assault is not random – it is the direct result of a climate that has permitted antisemitism to flourish unchecked. From the streets to the airwaves, we have allowed hatred to masquerade as protest. This cowardly attack on Jewish teenagers must be a turning point. Enough excuses. Enough inaction. We demand justice – swiftly and publicly.”

The NJA calls on British Transport Police to prioritise this case and ensure the Jewish community receives the protection it is owed. We also urge all political leaders to acknowledge the link between rising antisemitic violence and the climate of impunity cultivated by endless pro-Hamas agitation across the UK.

Britain’s Jews are not going anywhere. But neither will we tolerate a society in which our children are unsafe walking through their own neighbourhoods. The rule of law must be restored – starting now.
